Chapter 4 - An unaware boy

(TL: By Rafael)

--Skeleton King.

It was a powerful race that was considered sinful even among the skeletons.

It has a  complete resistant to magical attacks, which are originally the weak points of the monsters, and only physical attacks can be used against it. However, he flies in the air with his big wings on his back and shoots an arrow with a huge bow in his hand. That makes it  difficult to even approach, and even a first-class swordsman can't land many attacks due to his agility.

"Now, Let's run away Cleo !?How  Can we die in a place like this !!"(Keane)

Keane was completely frightened the moment he saw it.

Apparently, he didn't even  notice any signs of changes  in the surrounding.

"That's impossible. We can't escape."(Cleo)

"Why !? Such--"(Keane)

"We're already surrounded ..."(Cleo)

"Huh!?"(Keane)

I told Keane in a quick and quiet tone.

Yes. That's right. I and Keane had already been surrounded  by the skeletons. The number of them is probably more than ten. Even if it's a joke, it was in a bad tatse.

In other words, the only way we can survive is to subdue this Skeleton King.

And to make that possible ...

"Well ... Cleo? maybe,You ..."(Keane)

"Keane don't move. At least use defensive magic to prevent the arrow from hitting you."(Cleo)

Yes, I had no choice but to fight.

I puledl out the sword again and hold it in front of me taking a attacking stance . I took a deep breath and confirmed the movements around me. It's not whether I can do it or not, there is no choice but  I have to do it.

I don't know how much the second-ranked swordsman can fight .

Even so, if I don't fight, Keane my new friend will die ...!

"Hey! Cle--"(Keane)

"It's okay. Because my skill in swordsmanship was next to Aruna, the strongest swordfighter in the world!"(Cleo)

 I rush to prove myself.

Receive Keane's voice from my back.

"Uh, What is this sight ...!?"(Keane)

Keane was wary of his own eyes, while desperately deploying defensive magic.

He saw,  Cleo, a boy fighting in front of him. Cleo knocked down the arrow from the Skeleton, thinned it, and cut off its bare bones.

 Repeated that  five times.

Already, the number of skeleton kings were half.

"Isn't it at the level of magic ...!?"(Keane)

The sight in front of him instilled various emotion in him

  astonishing.

  awe.

 respect.

The emotions born in Keane are a mixture of the three.

He was ashamed of the act of drawing in Cleo and trying to show off that he was a good mage. He wondered if he was a dwarf* person.

(TL: It can have two meaning first one being he discimates against drawves and considers a showy person being a drawf. Second meaning being he considers himself a small person for showing whichever reason suits you more or you can tell what must be the reason according to you in the comments below)

As an adventurer, I don't even reach the feet of this boy. Even if my  magical arts was superior,  Cleo is superior to me in everything else.

The elf youth had become keenly aware of that fact in the short amount of time.

"The last one ...!"(Cleo)

As he said that,  The Skeleton  returns to the demon core .

The last Skeleton King was also defeated.

"Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah !!"

The boy raised his voice, swung his sword and jumped from one place to another .

Aiming at Skeleton flying in the air, he hits them without any hesitation or mercy. and he was--.

 Cruel.

The devil's scream echoed in the dungeon.

 That was the end.

It was the end of what seemed to be massacre.

The boy wraps up his sword and looks back and say nothing.

"Keane, are you injured?"(Cleo)

Keane couldn't say anything in return.

But he sweard to his heart.

I was saved by this boy.

So, with sincere gratitude to this person, I will give my loyalty to him.
