"You must be at least the seventh level of adventurer to view these materials."
(Was there an adventurer rank restriction? ......)
This is the library on the 18th floor of the Adventurer's Guild.
There are no books or bookshelves in the library, just a PC in a semi-private room separated by a wall like an internet cafe. From this PC, I could access the Adventurer's Guild database server, but I had to authenticate with a terminal to do so.
What I wanted to find out was information about the clans registered with the Adventurer's Guild, mainly the Brocade Society, a secondary organization of the Colors, and its affiliated clans. I know that the Brocade Society is behind Sorrel, but I don't know how many members they actually have or how many tertiary clans are affiliated with them. I came here to try to find out, but I couldn't access it in any way. I asked the librarian in the reference room, but he told me that I didn't have enough adventurer ranks. I hadn't expected to be able to view even clan names.
Apparently, the Adventurer's Guild information has an importance and risk rating, and access is restricted by adventurer rank.
My current adventurer rank is 9th level. If you're a student at an adventuring school, you automatically start at 9th level. I hadn't raised my rank since I registered as an adventurer because I didn't feel there was any particular advantage to doing so. However, I would like to collect information on quests and the adventurer's guild in the future, so I should probably raise my rank. From what I've been able to see on this PC, it looks like I can access most of the information I want now at 7th level, so I'll aim for 7th level first.
Looking at the promotion exam schedule, it says, "Grade 8 promotion examinations are held every Wednesday at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.". It was now 8 a.m. on Wednesday. I rushed to the reception desk to ask about it, and was told that there was still time to take the exam, so I paid the 9,800 yen exam fee and went to the designated exam room.
I paid the 9,800 yen exam fee and went to the designated exam room.
There were roughly 100 test takers who came. Most of them were young ...... adventurers with bad eyesight and bad attitudes, like ragheadsThere are a lot of people who look like they could be in a manga about the end of the century, and there are a lot of other people who look bad. There are many others with bad looks.
I wondered if I had come to the cosplay hall, so I went to check the entrance again, but there was a sign saying "8th grade promotion test hall," so I was sure I was in the right place.
(TL: When you come into a classroom where everyone is a delinquent)
I'm not sure if it's because it's the morning session or just by chance. In the game, Akagi and his friends were often tangled up, but no matter what, the security is too bad. I wonder if this kind of intimidating attire is a trend. There are some decent looking people, but they are shrinking in the corner, like they are trying to eliminate their presence.
There was no point in worrying about it, so I went to an empty seat, and there they were, smiling wanly and trying to pull me down, showing off their expensive looking weapons and showing off how strong they were, boasting about their level and strategy hierarchy, and some of them were even shooting at me, trying to get me involved.
There's no sign of a "simple appraisal" being set up.
The other day, I got rid of my super-obese body and became a somewhat timid-looking chubby boy with a childish face, but I wonder if they're judging me by my appearance and picking a fight with me.
I'm not sure if this place is in a magic field or not, but I don't care. My sister looks like a loli girl, but now she's a strong girl who can lift hundreds of pounds. If you measure your strength by your appearance, you're going to die someday.
I'm not going to point this out to them, because they can just die on their own. After waiting for about 10 minutes, the examiner finally arrived. I was relieved to see that the examiner was dressed in a neat suit and looked serious.
"It's time, so I'll start explaining."
Looking at his watch, he took out a form from a large envelope and started handing it out to everyone. On the form were written the contents of the test and some precautions.
"The test is as simple as it says on it. Each of you must go to a designated point in the dungeon and retrieve an object that has been placed there."
The content of the test can be summarized as follows.
The designated point is somewhere on the third floor of the dungeon.
● There is a time limit. The time limit is 12 hours after entering the dungeon.
● You don't have to kill the monsters, but there is a high possibility that you will have to fight them because of the location.
● You may team up with as many other examinees as you like. However, since the location of the designated items is different for each examinee, it will be necessary to retrieve items for each number of examinees.
● You must submit the items you have collected to the Adventurer's Guild Quest Section within the time limit along with your examination voucher.
There are many quests that require you to fetch a specific item or drop item at a specific location, so it's not that unusual. We had to be mindful of the 12-hour time limit.
Looking around the test room, it seemed that most people were either in parties of two or three, or diving solo. I guess it's appropriate to have a small group, since it would take too much time for everyone to collect the items. I've been solo since the beginning.
"When you enter the dungeon, the timer on your device will start automatically, so please start as soon as you're ready."
I checked the "Quests" section of the terminal screen, and the item I was given was a "document" with something written on it, and it was located on the third floor, far in the back.
As soon as I got my stuff together and was about to leave the room...
"Hey, you, take our stuff!"
"Hey, wait!"
I knew in advance that there were people who were ready to get involved with me, so I decided to make a dash for the dungeon. They probably wouldn't have come to a dungeon full of people to get involved.
It's a pain in the ass.
Normally, I enter the dungeon through the gate on the first basement floor of the school, but today I enter through the first floor entrance, standing in line as usual. I wanted to get there early, but the place was packed with adventurers as usual, and it took me two hours to get to the third floor without being able to pass them.
From the third floor, I left the main street and dashed to my destination. Now that I was up to level 19, I was able to reach speeds of about 50 kilometers per hour without difficulty. However, there were some parties hunting here and there, so I made sure to run slowly except in open areas with a good view.
"There are a lot of monsters on the road. ......"
If the third floor is the right level, it will be impossible to run around all the time. It should take a good amount of time to defeat them and go. If there's more than one of them, some of them may not be able to take the test in time. In addition, there are many branches to the destination, and if they don't think about which route is the closest, they'll run out of time. The difficulty level may be higher than I thought.
After about 10 minutes of running while checking my current location on the terminal, I finally arrived at the designated point.
It was supposed to be a "monster room" where several monsters would normally be stationed without moving, and I thought a battle was inevitable, but when I peeked inside ......, I saw a medium-built man with glasses standing there. He wears a uniform with a guild logo on the chest. I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not. I wonder if he's an examiner.
I thought they were testing me on how to deal with the monsters in the designated area and bring back the designated items.
"Oh, you're here already? I've been waiting for you, Narumi Sota-kun of the Adventurer's High School, first year E class."
I wonder if we knew each other at ....... I've been searching through my memories of Butao and can't think of anything. I wondered if he was related to my mother, who worked at the adventurer's guild, or if he just knew me because he was an examiner.
"Hello. Do I know you from somewhere?"
"No, it's nice to meet you."
He has a ...... disgusting look in his eyes. There's something about the way he sees me like he holds a grudge, the way he's an avenger. I've got a bad feeling about this. My instincts are telling me that I should get out of here as soon as possible.
"Well, I should just take those papers over there, right?
"I'll change the test.If you fight me now and win, you'll pass."
The examiner then picks up the promotion test document from the center of the room and tears it into pieces without permission. He carefully shredded it into small pieces.
Just as I was about to say, "Wait a minute," a "simple appraisal" came flying in. In the meantime, the "fake" was disguised to look like level 5, "Newbie", and skill level 1. I'd like to do a quick appraisal in return, but I don't want to use it now because it would seem unnatural.
"I believe your level was 5 when you applied for the ...... promotion test."
The shitty examiner who stared at me unreservedly. I'm wearing a jersey and a baseball bat, so I don't think there's anything to indicate strength.
"Still, I can't believe you made it here so quickly. I guess that means you're a student of the Adventurer's School, huh?"
Judging from what he's saying, my level seems to be deceiving well. But who the hell is this guy? I take a closer look at the young man in front of me.
I can see that he's well equipped. Light armor made of mithril alloy, small hands and boots that seem to be made of cowhide. The weapon is a slender sword made of mithril alloy, but it does not have any magic on it. If I were to judge by his appearance alone, he would be between 10 and 15 levels.
I mean, this guy knows I'm a level 5 and he's trying to fight me.
"You don't have the authority to suddenly change the test, do you?"
"Authority? Yeah, I don't care about that. It's bad enough that you're a student of the Adventurer's School."
It's bad because I'm a student of the Adventurer's School? Is there a rule that special examinations are imposed on students of the Adventurer's School?
(TL: This guy remind me of some stuck up bastard)
"What do you mean?
"First, Sin #1, they have no eye for applicants. Sin #2, they failed the great me in the entranceexam. Sin #3, they're not very good at anything, but they're so popular in the adventuring community that it's annoying. Sin #4: They always look down on ordinary adventurers. Sin #5, They are ......"
He began to speak at once as if he were spitting out his words with a look of hatred on his face. When he finished saying my sins, he open his hands and suddenly smile.
"-So I have to hit the evil buds properly like this to clean them."
You're saying a lot of things, but in short, you're resentful because you failed the Adventurer's School. So he used the promotion exam to get ahead of the adventurer school students when they were taking the exam, and waited for them.
"But I'm wearing a jersey rather than armor, and I only brought a bat as a weapon."
"No matter what you're wearing, the result will be the same."
The battle with Volgemut had wrecked both my rented weapon and my werewolf armor, so now I was wearing a jersey and a baseball bat, the same outfit I wore when I first entered the dungeon. At level 19, I can easily make it to the third floor dressed like this.
Even so, he has a very happy and lecherous look on his face.
It is said that the ratio of adventurer school entrance exams is over 100 times, and I understand that the difficulty is high, but how can you twist your personality like that just because you failed the exam? I think adventurers are a profession that stimulates a sense of elitism, or perhaps it tends to be filled with people who are inexplicably proud.
"So let's take our time and give you a good beating."
As soon as he took a step forward, he slammed his "aura" into me with full force. From the looks of it, I'd say he was around level 10 to 15. I'm sure I can get away with it since his level is a few levels lower than mine, but I've been under a lot of stress this morning. If no one is watching, ...... is a good place to start.
"What's the matter? Have you cowered before my mighty aura? You can run away if you want. It's useless. No one will come here."
The expression on his face was indescribable, distorted with hatred but unable to stop laughing. It's the end of the world when people become refracted like this.
Assuming that the man in front of me is level 15 and has mastered all the basic jobs, attacking him with this bat won't do as much damage as I expect. If that's the case, I'll just hit him directly with my fist and beat him up to the guild officials. If I do that, I'll probably pass the promotion test.
(TL:( °▪︎°))
As I was thinking about how to cook him while snapping the bones in my neck, I felt someone coming from behind me at a tremendous speed. ...... Is this faster than me? It might be over level 20.
It seems to have arrived before I had time to decide whether to run or hide.
"Hey, hey, hey, don't tease me, okay?"
I turned around and saw the sexy and dynamite body of the "Kunoichi" standing before me.
