“Rain… no.”
Understanding what the monster wanted, Nina immediately objected.
“Kuu’s mama… I want to save her.”
“I know.”
I wouldn’t do something that would make both Nina and Kuu sad.
I would definitely save her.
But how should I do it?
I couldn’t think of any method at all.
“Rain-san.”
While I hesitated, Nokia-san spoke up.
“Can you completely stop that child’s movements for about one minute? Can you make it so she can’t move even a fingertip?”
“I can.”
I answered immediately.
Nokia-san must have some kind of plan.
If so, then all I had to do was cooperate with everything I had.
“Please.”
“Understood.”
There was no time to ask for a detailed explanation.
And besides, there was no need for one.
I trusted Nokia-san.

If I had to compare it to something, it felt like trying to stop a rolling boulder with one hand.
I desperately tried to push it back, but the other side’s strength was overwhelming, making it incredibly difficult.

I promised Nokia-san I would stop her movements.

Pouring in even more strength and magic power, I issued the command a second time.
Kuu’s parent trembled for a moment…

And then dissolved into the air.
After about thirty seconds, the black particles disappeared completely.
Then the subspace gates closed…

Letting out a weak voice, Nokia-san dropped to one knee.
“Mama!?”
“I’m alright… I just used a little too much power…”
Though clearly exhausted, Nokia-san still gave a smile to reassure the panicking Nina.
Thank goodness.
Just as she said, she only seemed tired and not injured.
Still, what exactly had she done?
As I wondered that, I suddenly noticed a change in Kuu’s parent.
“Kon.”
Kuu’s parent, who had become a monster… had returned to normal.
Her body was slightly larger and the tips of her fur had turned red, traces of her transformation remaining behind.
But that was all.
Now she simply looked like a somewhat unusual fox.
It also seemed her reason had returned, as she had become very docile.
She looked at us almost as if she wanted affection.
“Kuu!”
“Ah!”
Breaking free from Nina’s arms, Kuu ran forward.
I thought it was dangerous…
But that worry turned out to be unnecessary.
Kuu’s parent wore an incredibly gentle expression as she caught her child and pressed her head against Kuu’s body.
Soon enough, the two of them began playfully nuzzling each other like a normal parent and child.
“She was supposed to have become a monster… and now she’s back to normal?”
“I’m glad it worked.”
Apparently recovered enough to stand again, Nokia-san said that.
“Nokia-san, you did something, didn’t you?”
“Yes. Using my power, I transferred every monster factor inside that child out of her body. I didn’t know whether she would truly return to normal afterward, so it was a gamble… but thankfully, it seems to have succeeded.”
“Wha…”
She said something utterly unbelievable so casually.
Using teleportation power to extract monster factors…
Just how much power would someone need to perform something so miraculous?
Even Nokia-san seemed completely exhausted from it…
Once again, I realized just how unfathomable her power truly was.
“Mama… thank you.”
“You’re welcome. As a fellow mother, I couldn’t just leave her like that.”
I guess that settles everything.
