The beast tamer exiled from the hero’s party and the cat eared girl from the strongest race meet

Chapter 376: No Matter What Happens

(TL:By Rafael,valhallatls.blogspot.com)

I finished preparing in three hours.

Since we're venturing into uncharted territory, I'd really prefer to take more time, but…

For Iris's sake, every minute and second counts.

So, I limited myself to the bare minimum preparations.

Afterward, I had Sora and Luna create a portal, and we headed to Krios via the spirit tribe’s village.

Luckily, Al was still there.

I immediately requested a meeting and explained the situation.

"Mmm... so that's what’s happening."

Al made a bitter face upon learning that Iris was in danger.

She must be genuinely worried, given the face she is making.

"I heard there's a supreme being skilled in healing on the Northern Continent. Do you know anything about that?"

"I've heard the story, but... hmm, what was it again? It’s an old story, so I can’t quite remember. Sorry."

"No, it's okay… But such a being does exist, right?"

"Yes, no doubt about that."

"Just knowing that is a relief."

Not just Alpha, but Al also confirmed the existence of this supreme healer.

Both of them are wise and knowledgeable.

If their words align, it’s unlikely that this is misinformation.

"But the Northern Continent... what a troublesome place."

"...Is it really that bad?"

For Al to say this much… could it be that terrifying?

"I've heard all sorts of troublesome stories. They say there are monsters there far more powerful than usual, strange plants and animals thriving, and... I've also heard there are multiple supreme beings there."

"Multiple…? Are they beings we don’t know about?"

"Yes. There are rumors of unknown supreme beings that I, too, have never heard of. Not just the one called the Healer, but others as well..."

"I see..."

"And that's not all."

The door opened, and Rezona appeared.

"Rezona!"

"Long time no see."

"Ah, my sweet daughter, how’ve you been?"

"Not bad."

The mother and daughter shared a joyful reunion, and despite the circumstances, it brought a warm feeling.

"You’re heading to the Northern Continent, right? I’ve gathered a bit of information myself."

"That’s helpful."

"Al mentioned a lot, but even more troublesome is that there aren’t any human towns, right?"

"…I see."

Rezona's remark struck me.

We’re heading to an unexplored land, so of course, there wouldn’t be any towns.

Maybe there might be a few people living there, but… there’s probably no proper towns, just villages or small settlements at best.

That means we won’t have any place to rest.

Getting food and water will be difficult as well.

"And... not having a map is a huge problem too."

"Oh, you got it."

"Nyan? We might get lost without a map, but… is it really that big of an issue?"

Kanade asked curiously, so I explained.

"It’s not just about getting lost. The real issue is that we won’t know what lies ahead."

"Hmm... that’s true, but as long as we’re careful, can’t we manage? Even if there are cliffs or valleys, we should be able to spot them."

"Yeah, but we’ll have to move forward cautiously, which will obviously slow us down."

"Oh."

"And if we end up at a dead end, we’ll have to backtrack, wasting even more time. That’s something we want to avoid right now."

"I see… so having a map is essential for moving safely and efficiently."

"Exactly."

Kanade, and for some reason, Nina, seemed impressed.

Well, Nina's still young, so it's understandable, but...

Kanade is an adult. She should at least know the importance of maps.

Then again, it’s probably because she didn’t know that she was so exhausted when we first met.

"Anyway, here’s the map."

"Huh?"

Rezona tossed a rolled-up sheet of paper toward us.

I hurriedly caught it and unrolled it.

"This is… a map of the Northern Continent?"

Compared to the general maps sold of the Central Continent, it was far less detailed.

It only showed rough topography and basic information.

Still, having it would make a world of difference.

We could add any information we gather locally to it, making our exploration much smoother.

"Where did you get something like this…?"

"Some of the ogres in this town, like Al here, are quite old. It’s a rough map, but it’s better than nothing."

"Comparing me to them is unnecessary. I’m as cute and lovely as ever."

"I went around asking those old folks, and that’s what I found."

"You went through all that trouble... thank you."

"Don’t mention it. You guys are this town’s benefactors. I’m happy to help however I can."

"That’s cool."

"Haha! Right? I’m cool, aren’t I?"

Rezona was in a great mood after being praised by Rifa.

At first glance, it’s hard to tell, but...

She really loves children.

"Having a map is a huge help. Now, about how we’ll get to the Northern Continent..."

Since it's uncharted territory, there's obviously no bridge or anything like that.

"Don’t worry. There’s a gate to the Northern Continent in the spirit tribe’s village. Of course, you’re welcome to use it."

"Thank you so much!"

"Won’t it be a bother to use it again and again?"

Rifa’s concern made Al laugh.

"Not at all. The chief of the village listens to whatever I say. They probably won’t be too happy about it, but if it comes to that, I’ll just give them a good smack."

… I felt a little sorry for the chief.

"Anyway, there’s no problem. It’s in the southern part of the Northern Continent, but I’ll make sure you’re safely transported. Consider it a favor for taking care of my daughters."

"Honestly, I’d love to go with you, but… sorry. I can’t just leave the town unattended."

"The town hasn’t fully recovered from the recent Stampede incident... and I’ve been roped into helping too. I apologize."

"No, it’s fine. You’ve given us a map and a way to travel… You’ve already done so much for us. Asking for more would be selfish."

It was now our turn to step up.

"Shall we cross over to the Northern Continent?"

"Well…"

I was ready, but what about everyone else? I turned to look at the group.

"I’m all set! I’m full of energy and food! I’ll give it my all!"

"Mm. I’m… ready too."

"I’ve got no issues either."

Everyone seemed prepared.

In that case, it was time to move forward.

Let’s begin the journey to save Iris.

Our destination is uncharted land.

We have little information, and we don’t know what awaits us.

Plus, half of our team is staying behind in Kagune.

The situation isn’t great.

But we won’t give up.

"No matter what happens… we’ll push forward!"

TL Note- New Continent and New Adventures awaits us.....
