Chapter 1-The resumption of the trip and Dan's words

"Keane, what's wrong? You have such a serious expression."

"Oh, it's nothing! Just... I've had a bit of trouble sleeping."

"Is that so? Well, if that's the case, maybe we should slow down the pace today."

"Oh no, no need to worry about that!"

When I spoke, Keane's behavior seemed somewhat suspicious. I wonder what's going on, his gaze is wandering, is there something he's not telling me? But we can't stand around forever. We need to hurry and make it to the Elven Forest.

If not, we won't be able to cure my father's illness.

"Well then, let's get going!"

With that in mind, I declared to everyone.

They didn't respond, but they nodded strongly.

And so, our journey began anew.

"That's reckless, Duke Farsheed!"

"Enough! Can I really stay calm at a time like this!"

Meanwhile, at the Duke's residence in the capital city of Galia, Dan was being held back by his attendants.

This was because, despite being just recovered from an illness, he had just declared that he would chase after Cleo. Such foolish actions couldn't be allowed.

Everyone present was unanimously trying to calm him down.

"What happened?"

"Duke, what in the world...!?"

Appearing before him in this state were Maki and Marin, who had come to check on his health. They were taken aback by Dan's exhausted appearance. Recognizing Cleo's friends, the Duke took a slight breath and continued.

"In this state, Cleo is in danger...!"

"Huh...?"

"What do you mean?"

And so, he continued to explain to the puzzled pair.

"I don't have solid proof, but—"

Without hiding his frustration, he continued.

"This entire journey was a trap set up by the demon race...!"
