―― The War of Humans and Demons.
It is a battle that is said to have taken place thousands of years ago, in the age of heroes.
Heroes from different worlds supposedly came together, and humans and elves joined forces to repel the demonic forces. However, the true cause of the conflict was never spoken of.
Why did this war happen?
Why did the demons become adversaries of humans?
In most theories, the blame is placed on the demons.
But with no concrete evidence, time passed, and the war eventually turned into a legend and a tale of folklore.
The spilled blood was forgotten, fading from the past into oblivion.
However, those who were oppressed could not forget.
The battle remained a fact, and they were driven to the corners of the world.
Even so, the people of today are not at fault.
Most of those who fought in that time have perished due to old age.
If that's the case, then why do the oppressed ones continue to plot and scheme?
The reason is quite simple.
The oppressed ones know.
"Even now, the gods are still involved in sinful deeds"―― they believed.

Judging from all the information we have seen so far about the demons, and the info presented in this chapter. I am guessing the gods in this novel are bad and demons are victims of said gods. I can only assume at this point that the eventual end game of this novel might involve overthrowing those oppressive gods.
