Chapter 107-The Narumi Family and  Spider

The Narumi family and a lone spider move about a dry area with only sparse weeds, chatting.

　Hanano poked and prodded at the white spider on my shoulder, and after a brief argument in the 20th floor hall, Arthur insisted on going with me. Therefore, he uses his skill to borrow the five senses of the summoner to move around the spider.

At that height, ordinary magic and arrows cannot reach it, so it cannot be hunted by ordinary means.

　What can be hunted, then, is a giant man-eating lizard called Mamu, which pops up if you walk down the main street leading to the 22nd floor. They drop delicious meat that I had with Tenma-san before, so I would like to hunt a few of them if I see them. But today's target is different from these.

　

　

　

　After walking for another 30 minutes or so, looking at the scenery, we saw reddish-brown sand dunes ahead of us.

"I wondered if that desert-like place was the destination Onii had mentioned.'

　Arthur the spider shouted as if to say yes and jumped out from my shoulder, and Hanano joined him in running. The dunes themselves are not that large, about 1 km square at most. We find a nearby rock formation of suitable size and make it our campsite.

The sandworms pop in the normal MAP only after the 25th floor, but only a handful of adventurers who are surrounded by a conquering clan or a great noble can dive that far. On top of that, it takes nearly a month to get there and back, making most drop items more expensive.

"Gigant worms? Are there bigger ones than the one we just caught?"

"The wire can  towed a large vehicle, so it should be fine."

"But it's going to take a long time at this rate. Mom, do that!"

　My father worried about the strength of the wire as he pulled sand out of his mouth, but we had bought a strong wire in anticipation of the gigantic worm. But the resistance was unexpectedly strong. It looked like it was going to be a long battle, and Hanano begged our mother to support us.

　

"Then, let's start with you, Arthur-chan. 《Strength I》"

　My father, who checked it out with his 《Appraise》 magical tool, was amazed at the monster level of the Gigant Worm. It was at least a size bigger than the one I had seen at Dun-Ex, perhaps because no one had caught it. I thought the four of us could have made it, but if it was this huge, it would have been impossible without Arthur.

　

　

　

　The day's hunt was a great success, with about 200 sandworms and a [giganto-worm stomach] successfully caught. Arthur is going to help me hunt for worms for a while, so I'll feel free to ask for his help.

　If things go according to the game, there will be a series of important events at the school. I believe that the best way to get through the events is to stay out of sight and out of mind, but I'm not going to skimp on that since I'll be like this air as long as I act as I normally would.
