Chapter 1-Impatience because of feelings.

Dan never doubted.

　Dan had confidence that his son, Cleo, would do well at the school. He knew better than anyone that Cleo would be a better student than he was at the time.

　And he was his father, of all people, so he believed the he knew this better than anyone else.

　But reality was cruel.

"Why, ......?"(Dan)

"I'm sorry. Father, ......"(Cleo)

".................."(Dan)

　Shortly after entering the academy, he took an exam.

　There, his son had, indeed, achieved all the top grades.

　But there was one thing that Dan did not expect.

"Why didn't he get a single ......?"(Dan)

　-- not a single subject in which he ranked first?

　No doubt, his son was better than he was.

　Then things should have gone without a hitch. And yet, why is that?

"Well, father..."(Cleo)

"Cleo, Go back to your room for today."(Dan)

"......................"(Cleo)

　Dan told Cleo.

　The boy wanted to say something, but silently exited.

　After hearing the door close, Dan pounded on the table with all his might.

'Why,  ......!'(Dan)

　Then he bit his lip.

　A palpable turmoil was brewing inside Dan at this moment.

　If he didn't do something about it, his son would end up sad again, just like him. He must never let him feel that way. Then what should he do?

"I have to do whatever it takes. ......!"(Dan)

　--the only way is to lead his son more harshly and strictly.

　Dan probably went astray at this time.

　He didn't want to make his son sad. He didn't want his son to feel the same way he did. In his agitated mind, he came up with the worst possible answer.

　Thus, the distance between Dan and Cleo widens.

　But it was much later that the father would realize his mistake. ......
