A boy who was disowned because he was second in everything, is unknowingly unmatched

Volume 24

Chapter 6-Just one, that's all.

(TL:By Rafael)

"From your perspective, Cleo, how big do you think the gap is between their competencies?"(Alan)

".................."(Cleo)

I thought about Alan's words for a while, and then I said what I honestly thought.

"I think that the difference in the wizards' abilities is striking.  Erio and Maki are following up, but if one don't choose the right words--"(Cleo)

"You mean he's dragging everyone's feet?"(Alan)

"............ yes."(Cleo)

Perhaps sensing that I was having a hard time saying what I wanted to say, the Knight Commander took over. And that is exactly what I was thinking.

The magic of Keane is certainly great.

If the times were different, if he had been born in a different era, he would have been active as a royal court magician.

But this time, the opponent was too powerful.

Liliana, who is the object of comparison, is called the greatest wizard of all time. In addition to her out-of-the-box potential, she has worked even harder during her time at the school.

She had a huge gap between when she entered the school and when she graduated.

"Hmmm, in that case--"(Alan)

Alan put his hand on his chin and took a breath.

'Isn't this match already settled?"(Alan)

".................."(Cleo)

Then he dares to say the words that are hard to say.

But, however, surely all who were watching this battle felt it. No matter how you try to stand on your own feet, my friends will fall a piece short of my childhood friends by a wizard's margin.

That was already a definite fact.

I have known this since before the battle.

Keane will never be able to match Liliana in offensive magic.

My eyes, which had seen both of their abilities up close and personal, had no doubt.

But at the same time, I know.

"Not yet."(Cleo)

"How .....?"(Alan)

 --Keane has a special talent.

Keane must have been  an ordinary person like me to Alan, so to speak..
(TL: No one thinks you are ordinary dude)

But there was one thing. There was one area that stood out in him. I smiled a small smile at Alan as I recalled that.

Fighting is different from the classes at the school.

Everything is a one-shot competition, and there is no difference in talent.

"Differences in ability are trivial."(Cleo)

And the moment I said that, the situation changed drastically.

The battle situation turned towards a new ending.

TL Note- OK leaving the awesome battle and dramatic twist aside why does he think that he is ordinary.

Comments

  1. I think it has already been established that our MC has a tad bit of an inferiority complex. I know, a little bit of an understatement.

  2. I know the author like to remind us of Cleo's inferiority complex, ut him actually daring to call himself ordinary completely destroyed any amount of progress he made in 24 volumes on the novel and honestly, it's pissing me off..
