I wanted to enjoy a slow life while exploring the territory with a secret gift [craft skill], but I was intentionally banished to the frontier by pretending to be incompetent.

Volume 1

Chapter 3-Let's make a tunnel!

(TL by Rafael)

It's been two days since I started digging a tunnel.

There is a reason why making  it takes so long.

The main reason is that it was necessary to make something with a slope or inclination that can be climbed even by a carriage in order to carry in the luggage taken out from the ship, but for air circulation, holes were also made in some places toward the cliff, and on the way more time was taken because   they were building rest areas at the same time as the construction of tunnel.

(TL: Kinda feel like real construction different from other novel where they use skill and things appear)

It's a simple tunnel for the time being, but it's spacious and comfortable enough to spend some time in the long tunnel.

There is also a place to connect horses and a room where you can easily stay.

If it is too elaborate, the resources brought from the mansion of the royal capital would not be enough , so basically the materials obtained from the tunnel construction are used in making all these .

So the basic material are stones.

The rest area also serves as an air vent, and the outside of the cliff can be seen from a  grid-shaped stone window is fitted to prevent the invasion of monsters.

So far, there are no people except us.

However, as the territory develops over time, it will have to accept immigrants from outside.

"Rest, please leave the empty plates to me."

"Oh, I see. Terrine, Thank you for the rice it was delicious."

While cleaning up the empty tableware on the easily made table set, I thank the maid chief Terrine for her  cooking.

When I was in the aristocratic mansion, the maid chief was not the maid chief, but a woman under Kieda ... in other words, a woman who was in a position to bundle my own maids and groom them.

In her mid-twenties, she is a beautiful woman with long eyes and long hair tied up behind her head.

"Thank you"

She gives a light thank you, and when she receives the tableware from me, she assigns the work to the maids under her control.

One of the maids, Fail, started washing the dishes lightly in the kitchenette I crafted, and she was immediately scolded by Terrine.

"The water is a little cold."

"If you make a sound at this level, you will be disqualified as a maid."

I have a large amount of water as a [material], so I can use it freely as it is.

By the way, the drainage is made to flow out of the cliff as it is, but there will be no problem because the sea is directly below it.

Fail*, who has just become sixteen, is the youngest member of this vassal corps, and although she is still training as a maid, Kieda says that she is a talented person who will eventually take over Terrine postion.

(TL: I pity her for having name Fail)

But as far as I can see, I can't believe she's being scolded by Terrine for making some mistakes.

Such a Fail still broke a plate I received from Terrine as the plate slipped from her  hands in front of me.

Well, no matter how much the tableware breaks, if I immediately materialize it and craft it, it will be restored.

"Then I'll go ahead and dig up the rest of the tunnel. And I'll fix it later, so collect only the broken dish pieces for me Fail."

"Yes ... I'm sorry."

She apologize with a fading voice and I say, "Don't worry," and then leave.

As I walk to the place I dug before the break, I think of the drawing that Kieda wrote in my head.

Perhaps Kieda's calculations should get us to the top soon.

According to the survey team's report, the island is not trapezoidal or square but concave.

So, one can reach the ground on the upper surface faster than one can see outside.

"Now it's some time to get some work done?"

When I put the lantern I got on the ground, I touched the dead-end  wall and activated the power of materialization.

  2. Well those previous two comments are somewhat interesting? Anyway, this series seems fun so far - the crafting skill has always seemed to have hidden powers! Thanks for the chapters and making this happen -
