Super Mothership
And those five days were almost exactly at the limit of his patience. If they had asked for two or three days less, he might actually have gritted his teeth and agreed to wait!
A coincidence? That would be far too much of a coincidence, wouldn't it?
No! Something was wrong! Very wrong!
Gemini seemed a little too confident for its own good.
“So your side has absolutely no sincerity when it comes to peace negotiations?”
Chloros's face twisted with anger, as though he were about to fly into a rage at any moment.
“Aren't you the one who seems rather impatient, sir? For the sake of peace between our two sides and to prevent widespread death and suffering, you aren't even willing to wait five days?”
Isabel asked without backing down.
The two exchanged a glance, and the same thought surfaced in both their minds.
Something really has gone wrong with the Locke Consortium!
Gemini really does know something!
Compared to Isabel's excitement, Chloros was undoubtedly in a much more passive position.
But he couldn't understand it. The wormhole was clearly under his control, so how could Gemini possibly have obtained intelligence from the other side?
Unless… someone had leaked the information!
“It seems… you've already found yourselves an ally. And this ally must be quite powerful—powerful enough to give you the confidence to stand against the Empire?”
Chloros stared at Isabel.
“Mm! We've indeed made a new friend. Judging by the situation, it seems our friend has caused you quite a bit of trouble, hasn't he?”
Isabel finally laid her cards on the table.
A new friend… who's caused us trouble…
Chloros's heart sank. Information he had received not long ago immediately surfaced in his mind…
“May I ask who this new friend is?”
“The All for…”
Speaking as though she were giving him a riddle, Isabel simply smiled and uttered those two words.
“ONE! SOCIETY!”
Chloros gritted his teeth and completed the name, enunciating every word.
So it really was you!
The series of events that had disrupted his plans in the Shattered Star Domain and then taken advantage of the resulting chaos to set his own backyard ablaze…
None of it had been a coincidence!
It had all been part of a meticulously planned conspiracy!
His thoughts raced. As he reconstructed the entire sequence of events from beginning to end, Chloros's expression grew increasingly grim.
I withdrew the Karon Pirates and the Dark Temple, only for the other side to seize the opportunity to eliminate the isolated Gold Coin Pirates. Then they picked off the remaining forces one by one, taking control of the entire Shattered Star Domain in a single stroke!
I launched an all-out assault on Gemini, and the other side lured the pirates into my territory with the promise of profit, allowing them to run rampant through my backyard. They used the strategy of “besieging Wei to rescue Zhao” against me!
Even here on Gemini's side, the other party merely revealed a few seemingly insignificant pieces of intelligence, yet that was enough to stiffen Gemini's resolve after it had already begun to weaken. My plan to make them fold by bluffing had completely fallen apart!
This meant that the mastermind not only knew his plans inside and out, but had also sinisterly turned the tables, exploiting the weaknesses in his own strategy. Every strike had landed directly on his vital points.
The hidden mastermind had been weaving invisible webs from the shadows, ensnaring him more tightly with every move. By the time Chloros realized someone was manipulating him, he had already lost the ability to turn the tables.
For the first time, Chloros finally understood what his previous opponents must have felt.
What was this supposed to be? Using my own methods against me?
Defeating me with my own signature technique?
Humiliation! Utter, unadulterated humiliation!
What he found most unbearable was that the other side had accomplished all of this by using just one tiny chess piece from beginning to end: the Ghost Pirates!
And that same chess piece had actually grown stronger through war, ultimately rising to become one of the new Seven Great Pirate Groups!
It was as though he had carefully arranged an intricate chessboard, intending to slaughter his opponents from every direction.
Then, out of nowhere, some random passerby had picked up a single pawn and made a few absolutely ridiculous sideways jumps, sweeping away his pieces and turning his entire carefully constructed formation upside down.
And in the end, that pawn had reached the opposite side of the board and transformed in a dazzling reversal from an insignificant little pawn into a queen!
Inflict a thousand casualties on the enemy while gaining eight hundred in return?
What kind of terrifying opponent was this?!
Alongside his fury, Chloros felt a chill creep down his back.
Watching the constantly shifting expressions on Chloros's face, Isabel finally breathed a sigh of relief.
As expected, the All for One Society really is taking action!
This wasn't just an empty boast!
The fact that it had driven the enemy's supreme commander into such a furious yet deeply apprehensive state showed just how devastating the organization's “sanctions” had been.
Chloros also realized that he had let his emotions get the better of him. After composing himself slightly, he immediately thought of a crucial question he had overlooked.
As far as he knew, the All for One Society was a secret organization formed through collusion between the Mechanical race and certain factions within the Woolf Empire.
That raised an important question: Why were they helping Gemini so much?
Logically, the situation on Gemini should have had little effect on the internal affairs of the Empire itself.
Unless…
“The All for One Society isn't helping you for free, is it?”
Chloros asked in a hoarse voice.
Isabel seemed to have been waiting for him to ask that very question. She nodded without hesitation.
“Of course not. The price we paid was the very thing you want most…”
Chloros immediately felt a surge of blood rush up his throat!
He had schemed and plotted in countless ways, even sacrificing his own directly subordinate fleet in the process.
Yet the other side had used the carefully constructed situation he had worked so hard to create, taken not a single casualty of their own, and walked away with the biggest prize!
Year after year, I toil away at the golden threads, only to weave a wedding dress for someone else!
All for One Society, you and I… are now mortal enemies!
“Pfft!”
At last, unable to withstand the overwhelming psychological blow from every direction, he spat out a mouthful of blood…
……
After ending the communication, Isabel and the two people standing behind her wore rather peculiar expressions.
“Tsk! To actually make the enemy commander so furious that he vomits blood… just how devastating a blow did he suffer? This All for One Society really is terrifying!”
Renault couldn't help clicking his tongue in amazement.
Nie Yun suddenly felt a little embarrassed.
If he had the opportunity, he would definitely explain one thing to Chloros:
I really wasn't targeting anyone in particular…
But who told you to set your sights on my nun?
“Report! The latest news from the front! The enemy fleet has suddenly begun withdrawing!”
Just then, a soldier rushed in, his voice filled with excitement.
“They're certainly acting fast!”
Although Isabel said this, she still let out a long sigh of relief.
With a massive enemy force bearing down on them, it was impossible for her, as the commander, not to feel pressure.
“Transmit my orders! Have all garrison fleets advance slowly. Apply pressure on the enemy while reclaiming our lost territory, but under no circumstances should they advance recklessly. We must guard against a counterattack!”
Nie Yun nodded.
With such a capable ally as Isabel in command, it seemed that the situation on this side of the wormhole was now secure.
However, the pressure on his own side was about to increase considerably…
This time, Gemini had thoroughly sold out the All for One Society.
It was obvious that Isabel had already received instructions from the Gemini Council. Regardless of whether Chloros brought it up, she would spread the news that the Vector Engine had already changed hands.
Only by doing so could Gemini extricate itself from the vortex surrounding the struggle for the treasure and avoid attracting even more hungry wolves.
Having snatched the prize right out from under Chloros's nose, Nie Yun had clearly made himself a serious enemy. Judging by the murderous expression Chloros had worn moments earlier, there was no doubt that their feud had just become much deeper.
Nie Yun, however, had been mentally prepared for this from the beginning.
After all, he'd collected protection money from someone. It was only natural for that person to shout, “If there's trouble, go talk to my big brother, Fat Tiger!”
