The pierced void churned like a vortex, and visible tornado-like air currents appeared inside the arena.
Nie Yun controlled the Ghost to hover in midair, looking down at the massive cavity below. His eyebrows lifted slightly. “Oh? Even the positron cannon isn’t enough…”
On the radar, the Red Dragon’s high-energy signal had not disappeared!
Sure enough, in the next moment—Boom! The mouth of the cavity erupted in a violent explosion and collapse. A gigantic red energy blade shot up through the smoke and dust, reaching the Ghost almost instantly.
Bang! The shield, which had just rebooted, still failed to block the strike and shattered on impact.
After losing most of its energy, the blade was caught by the Ghost’s crossed arms, leaving only a shallow mark before dissipating quickly.
Nie Yun lowered his arms and looked down.
Amid the rolling smoke and dust, the Red Dragon rose slowly, high-temperature vapor venting from its body, until it hovered opposite the Ghost.
It looked somewhat battered, but the energy crystal armor was completely unscathed!
Red Dragon glanced at the slightly dimmed crystal armor on his body, shock still evident in his eyes. “It’s clearly not a legendary mech, yet it can threaten the Red Dragon… Has the mechanical race’s mech technology advanced to this level?”
If an ordinary mech had taken that attack head-on, even its bones would probably have been vaporized.
Positrons, also known as anti-electrons, are the antiparticles of electrons. Aside from carrying a positive charge, their properties are identical to electrons.
Positrons are unstable particles. When they encounter electrons, annihilation occurs. Thus, when positrons come into contact with atomic nuclei, they annihilate with the orbital electrons, releasing tremendous energy and destroying the original structure of matter. That is the principle behind the positron cannon.
It can be said that this is the most basic form of matter-annihilation weapon, possessing enormous destructive power and penetration capability against physical targets.
The reason Nie Yun chose this weapon was primarily to attempt to break through that seemingly impregnable layer of energy crystal armor.

Red Dragon’s face darkened… No way. Again?
“Rapid-Fire Ki Cannons!”
Whoosh whoosh whoosh! In the next moment, dazzling beams shot toward the Red Dragon in midair with almost no interval between them.
Against energy attacks approaching the speed of light—and with advanced radar targeting—such long-range strikes at this distance were nearly impossible to evade. The Red Dragon could only execute erratic high-speed maneuvers while enduring Nie Yun’s relentless assault.
Boom boom boom! Beam after beam chased the Red Dragon’s figure, sweeping across the field like a laser barrage. When they struck the surrounding energy shields, huge ripples spread out, making the spectators tremble in fear.
Although the power of each individual shot had been reduced, the sheer number of Ki Cannons in this barrage was brutal. The Red Dragon was struck repeatedly, and its energy crystal armor began to flicker violently.
“Your flaw is… you don’t have enough endurance!” Nie Yun chuckled.
Red Dragon: “…”

The terrain inside the arena had been completely devastated. The ground trembled constantly under the relentless bombardment.
The spectators throughout the arena stood with their mouths wide open, staring in stunned silence at what had practically become a one-sided chase and slaughter…
Finally—crack! A faint shattering sound rang out, and Red Dragon’s expression changed.
Just as Nie Yun had said, under the sustained assault, the Red Dragon’s energy reserves were nearly depleted. If this continued, the energy crystal armor would soon be unable to hold and would shatter outright—at which point it would mean total mech destruction and certain death.
He secretly glanced at the safe zone below…
Going back to swap out the battery wasn’t impossible—but admitting weakness in front of such a massive audience… that would seriously damage his reputation!
He held on a bit longer, but in the end, Red Dragon’s psychological defenses completely collapsed under the mech AI’s “Energy Insufficient” warning.
Whoosh! Rapidly retreating from the battlefield, the Red Dragon fell heavily and somewhat awkwardly to the ground.
Nie Yun, who had been thoroughly enjoying the nonstop barrage, froze for a moment. Only after hearing the referee’s warning in his ear did he reluctantly stop attacking.
