Chapter 1-Aruna's memories.

"Dad! What the hell is this supposed to mean?"(Aruna)

" Don't make me repeat myself, Aruna. The Ledin family will be destroyed for losing the duel to you. This is what His Majesty the King has decreed--"(Dad)

"You idiot! So why didn't you tell me that first!"(Aruna)

　

　Aruna cornered his father.

　

　That's wasn't for no reason as at the time, Aruna had no idea that his duel would result in the downfall of the Ledin family. He had only been told that it was purely a battle for the pride of the swordsman.

　

　It was supposed to be.

　

　After everything was over, he was told the truth.

　

　He had a right to be upset.

"So what's going to happen to her? ......!"(Aruna)

"To her? Who are you talking about?"(Dad)

"Don't you dare feign ignorance! I'm talking about Erio Ledin!"(Aruna)

　But there is one thing that annoys Aruna even more.

　

　It was about Erio. He had admired her swordsmanship in the previous duel.

　

　Unlike himself, she was faithful to the basics - and that had its holes, but apart from that, she was the first person to stand alongside him. Aruna had thought that the girl would be a good opponent.

　

　But now it was too late.

"It's too late. Ledin's people have already left the capital."(Dad)

"............!"(Aruna)

　

　--It won't happen.

　

　It was already too late for anything.

　

　As a small boy, there was nothing Aruna could do.

"Okay. Forget about this. It's for your own good and--"(Dad)

　

　His father said in a somewhat emotionless voice.

"It's also  good for us, the Clefus family,"(Dad)

"Oh, damn it, ......."(Aruna)

　

　Aruna was lying in the infirmary, receiving medical attention.

　

　It wasn't a fatal wound, but the boy knight had taken an uncharacteristically deep blow. But he woke himself up, swearing.

　

　He lowered the others and stood by the window.

　

　Then he muttered.

"I'll take responsibility for  Clefus house."(Aruna)

　

　The voice echoed in the quiet room.

　

　Aruna's eyes were filled with a firm determination.
