Treasure chests can be found in the dungeons of Dun-Ex.

The contents of treasure chests can contain equipment, materials, magic items, dungeon currency, and rare items that can only be found in treasure chests, though the chances of finding them are low, so players compete to find them.

The treasure chests have a few rules.

Once a treasure chest is opened, it disappears after a certain period of time and then pops up again in a different location.

Treasure chests have a rarity (*1), and the deeper the level, the higher the rarity.

The deeper the level, the rarer the treasure chest. ・There may be locks and traps.

The wooden treasure chests on this floor are unlocked, so you don't need to use the corresponding keys or skills. However, the treasure chests on the middle and later levels have explosive traps or are disguised as mimics that are stronger than a bad floor boss, so just opening them is quite a thrill.

In the deeper levels, it's not uncommon for traps to kill you instantly. Some are so bad that they can cause a huge explosion that blows up the entire area. Disarming them was difficult, and only a few players were able to open the chests because they required the corresponding keys and skills.

--The story goes back to before the passage.

Originally, treasure chests were not popping up on the seventh level, but I know that they are now placed in the additional MAP due to DLC. And in front of me, there is a skeleton sitting on a treasure chest with his head down. But--

 (That's weird. ......)

The treasure chests that pop up in this area are supposed to be [wooden treasure chests], but the one there is a shiny metal box, no matter how you look at it. And it even has a relief pattern on it. And that skeleton is strange.

The skeletons I've fought in the past have worn no armor, only weapons and shields, but this one is wearing a finely decorated chainmail and helmet, and its bones are kind of black, and it even has horns. At a glance, you can tell it's not just another skeleton. It's probably a named monster (*2). Aside from the horns, it looks similar to the Chaos Soldier that I saw on a dungeon attack broadcast some time ago.

It may be in a dormant state, or it may not be moving at all, so I can't say for sure how strong it is. I wanted to see his name alone, but if I used the "simple appraisal" he would have noticed me and we would have had to fight.

There is a possibility that she will use her weapon skills, and it would be dangerous if her sister, who has no knowledge of the game, used them.

"(He's likely to be a monster level 9 or higher, so it's better to back off and use the golem to level him up first.)"

"But ......, the treasure chest might disappear!"

I managed to convince my sister, who was like a horse with a carrot dangling in front its nose, that the treasure chest would not disappear unless she opened it. The problem is, if someone comes here, who would go to the trouble of descending into a pit to check out the side holes? No, even if they came here, the treasure chest would repop. There's no need to push yourself when your life is on the line.

If you are fighting an unknown monster that you don't know anything about, you have to be as careful as possible. This is especially true for named monsters, which can be "floor bosses" at worst.

"(Ugh, ......, can I come back and get it?)"

"(When you level up. So be patient for now.)"

I reluctantly agreed to retreat, so I decided to go and kill the golem in the courtyard. My sister looks back and forth as if she's regretting her decision to leave, but I want her to give up for now because life is the only thing that matters.

On the way, I peeked into the courtyard through a small window on the side of the passage and found ....... It was a wood golem.

The courtyard is beautiful, although the grass is growing in places. It's not that someone is mowing the grass, but that's the way the terrain is. There was a golem standing in the middle of it, dragging its feet. It was probably about 2.5 meters tall. But its arms and legs were thick, and it must have weighed nearly a ton.

I observed the golem through the binoculars I had brought with me.

"There's a stone stuck in its back. ...... That's the core, right?"

I almost underestimated its strength because it was only moving very slowly, but the scary thing about it was its power.

"That's right. His attacks are heavy, so don't take them. Just duck."

"Don't worry, you're a worrier. I'll just level up quickly."

The golem is an omnidirectional life-sensing type (*3), so if you get close enough to it, it will sense you even if you are behind it. A surprise attack is impossible.

"I'll take the lead at first, then you can take the core.

"Just take the core off my back, right? "You can always take it out when you get stronger. Watch the golem's movements and prioritize destroying it."

I think she don't quite understand what I'm talking about. ...... So, let's do it.

I picked up my weapon and approached the golem until I was about 30 meters away, when it spun around to face me and started to make a low sound, as if some kind of large motor was running. It sounds like it could be a wheel.

"Come at me, big guy!"

The Wood Golem has a monster level of 9, but because of its slow initial speed, the skeleton seems to move much faster than it does. But that's only until you get close. Its punches have a longer reach and are faster than I expected.

"Whoa! That's a fast punch!"

"I got this! hyaaaa!"

Even when avoiding the Wood Golem's punches, there is a powerful wind noise with each shot, which chills your heart. You can't let your guard down even for a moment, because it can launch a series of such punches.

My sister tries to pull out the core by attaching her legs to the golem's back as if she were pulling out a turnip, but she can't pull it out because it's firmly fixed and she gets swung around.

"Slam the weapon down and break it ...... from the root! I mean, break dammit!"

"It's a waste of time."

Every time I avoids the wood golem's roaring punches, I feel a bad sensation like a ball hum. I also break out in a sweat, but this is a cold sweat. As a big brother, I wish she'd hurry up.

I spent the next minute or so sweating and dodging punches. She finally succeeded in breaking the golem's core by repeatedly slamming the peak of my small sword into it. The golem collapsed to the ground and turned into a demon stone.

The golems here have short pop intervals, so they appear quickly. It's better to leave once to take a break.

"Hahaha ...... Hey, if you take that long trying to get it, ...... Ni-chan would die!"!

"But look at this~" "I wonder how much it will sell for~"

My sister is in a good mood, leaning over and looking at the golem core in her hand. No matter how much I tell her to destroy it, she can't seem to give up the treasure. I have no choice but to give her a 30-second reprieve, and if she still can't do it, we'll talk about destroying it.

"Bu~bu~"

"It's not boo boo. I'll ask you to act as an attractor when you reach level 8."

"Eh, it can't be helped"

I want to chop my sister's nimble head irresistibly, but if she sulks here, it will only make me less efficient. I'm not sure if it's a quest monster or not. Maybe it's because it's a quest monster, but the way the fog appears is different from those of other monsters.

I took a 10-minute break from the first fight because I was too tired to dodge the high-speed punches, but I got the hang of breaking the core of the second golem and was able to pull it out and defeat it in less than 30 seconds. The second golem, I got the hang of breaking its core and was able to pull it out in less than 30 seconds, but you have to be able to run as fast as you can.

"I wish I had brought a machete or hatchet. You can use a small sword to cut, but it's hard to put enough force in the direction of breaking."

I guess I shouldn't have used a small sword considering the skeleton fight. Now that my sister is reasonably strong, I'll let her try the two-handed hatchet style.

After that, I took a break and killed about five wood golems, and Hanano's level became eight. Since they're quest monsters, they have a lot of experience, and since they also have an experience bonus due to their superiority, their levels rise quickly.

"Yay! So we'll alternate next time?"

"Haa ...... haa ...... nee-chan's already tired ...... let's go home today."

"Yeah. Then let's do it again tomorrow."

The golem was a very tasty enemy, as it was a surefire way to hit a vital spot if the two of you were fighting together. In the game, there was information that golems were a good enemy for leveling up in the shallow levels, and I think I can use that game knowledge here as well.

However, my sister's ability to adapt to dungeons is also higher than I thought. At this rate, she should be able to reach level 15 in about two months. I'll be able to go on a diet and raise my level while restricting my food intake, so let's keep our heads up.

 *...*...*...*...*...*

Today's class was over, and Murai-sensei was explaining the contact information in the homeroom in a matter-of-fact manner. No matter how you look at it, there's probably a problem with this E class, but she doesn't mention it at all and leaves the classroom with an attitude that doesn't seem to notice.

As soon as homeroom was over, some of the D class students came into the classroom and tried to take some of my classmates to help with club activities. Apparently, I'm considered a small fish, and they don't want to take me because they judge that I can't even be used for miscellaneous purposes. Is that lucky or should I be sad?

I'm not sure if I'm lucky or sad about that, but I'm planning to kill golems with my sister again today, so it's better than being spotted and dragged around.

"Hey Akagi, don't be afraid to help me today."

"... Ah ..."

Akagi-kun is grabbed by the neck and taken out of the classroom. The teacher turned a blind eye to what was clearly bullying him. The classmates are so distraught that they don't even make eye contact with each other, probably because their will to rebel against Class D has been broken.

The most powerful person in class E, Akagi, was silenced with violence that could be called a one-sided violation. They were made to understand that the advantage of being able to dive into the dungeon three years earlier makes an unimaginable difference, and the entire E-Class is drenched in an inexplicable gloom.

No matter what I say at this point, I don't think I can change the situation. If I were to do something, I would have to expose the people behind Kariya and take them to task. Kariya is just a puppet. The one who is directly giving the orders is probably "that guy" who has the B class under his control.

But when he was taken away, Akagi's eyes were not dead. I think he's going to do his best to look back at the dungeon dive. Sanjo-san, Kaworu, and Tachiki-kun are also following him, so maybe I don't need to worry that much.

Some of the students from class D are still in class E after Akagi was taken away.

"Well, my brother was invited to a party of the Colors' subordinate organization."

"The Colors? That's amazing!"

"Your brother was a member of Sorrel, right?"

"That's awesome!"

He's ...... the guy who blew up Kikuguchi-san at the school gate, I believe. I was going to look into it later, but I guess it's called "ma-naka". I'll keep that in mind.

I'll keep that in mind. He started chatting loudly, so I listened closely and found out that I could join a clan party under the Colors. She said that we could join a clan party under the colors, and that some big adventurers would be there.

Speaking of the Colors, they're a dungeon-crawling clan that's gaining popularity thanks to the effects of the TV show that captured Rich the other day, but the clan called Sorrel seems to be a tertiary organization, a subordinate of the Colors' secondary organization.

Even if it's a tertiary organization, if it's a subordinate organization of a famous clan, there are likely to be adventuring school alumni and successful adventurers in the organization, and the clan level is much higher than that of most clans, according to Mamaka.

It is not possible to join a frontline clan like the Colors out of the blue, but if you become strong and successful in the subordinate clans and make a name for yourself, you can transfer to a higher level clan. If you want to join a top-tier clan, you need to join its subordinate clan first. The exception to this is the transfer of players from other top-ranking clans to the top-ranking clan, but due to concerns about the leakage of dungeon strategy information, it is said that transfers between strategy clans are rare.

"Tazato-san and the members of the Colors were really amazing.

"I've been rewatching the recording over and over again. I've been rewatching the video over and over again. It's the strongest job [samurai] there is.

"I heard that you have to be active in a clan to be decorated by the government to become a samurai.

It is true that the spirit of the colors in that battle was amazing. I'm not sure what to make of that. I can understand why he would want to be a top-notch adventurer.

Most of the students at the Adventurer's School have their first choice of going to the Adventurer's College and becoming a bureaucrat. If they can't get into an adventurer's college, they usually go to a normal college as a second choice, but many students prefer to join a famous clan if they can. The fact that the students of class D and even class E were listening to me shows the high level of interest in this topic.

I'm not thinking about going to an adventurer's college because I went to ...... college in my previous world. I don't think I'm going to go to college, I think I'm going to be an adventurer. And when you get strong enough, it might be a good idea to form a clan with friends you can trust. Unlike games, I don't know how much I can conquer in this world, but I'm sure I'll be able to do it even against floor bosses.

Thinking about the blueprint of how to make a clan, I went to the D class room and quickly finished some chores called cleaning and trash disposal, and left the classroom. I headed to the workshop. I want to rent some hatchets to use against golems.

Most of the weapons available for rent are made of steel. Although harder stainless steel and lighter titanium are also available for rent, the number and variety of such metal weapons is limited, probably because they are difficult to process in the school's workshop. The workshop would probably rather make a weapon made of dungeon material with better sharpness and durability than make one that is difficult to process.

However, weapons made of dungeon materials such as strong monster claws, fangs, and magic metals cost over a million yen, even if you look at online shopping, auctions, and the trading posts of adventurer guilds, and they are too expensive to rent. In the end, the only weapons lined up in the workshop were made of steel.

Steel rental weapons are fine for monsters on the 10th floor, but the 10th floor is already in sight. If you want a better weapon than that, you'll have to buy it or get the materials yourself. In the event that you're a high school student, you're going to need a lot of money.

I've been thinking about some ways to save money. Let's take our time and prepare ourselves until the time comes.

(*1) Treasure Chest Rarity

Treasure chests have different rarities depending on the material they are made of: wood, copper, silver, gold, mithril, orichalcone, and adamantite, in that order. Usually, treasure chests up to the 20th floor are made of wood.

(*2) Named Monsters

These are special monsters that can only be found in one game world. These monsters are often as strong as a boss and have a unique name.

(*3) Life sensing type

A type that senses life force. It is not affected by sight, but it cannot detect monsters with no life force, such as undead. A normal monster is a sight-sensing type that senses what it can see.
