-- Naoto Tachiki's POV
The other day, there was a duel at the No. 4 arena.
Yuma, who was severely beaten by Kariya and suffered several broken ribs, fortunately healed completely that day thanks to the treatment of the [Priest] doctor. He seems to be fine now and is able to move around fine.
However, since that day, Class E has been surrounded by a heavy atmosphere as if we were in the dark, and we can't get out of it.
At the recruitment ceremony for club activities a while ago, the dignity of Class E was severely damaged, but even so, many of the classmates tried to recover, thinking positively that if they worked hard, they would one day be recognized. However, ...... was different this time.
The fact that Yuma, the most talented, talented, charismatic and skilled fighter in the class, was defeated, and the malicious abuse heaped upon him by the rest of the class, was enough to break the positive spirit of those who were trying to follow in Yuma's footsteps.
Even Sakurako, Kaworu and I, who had worked so hard together, were dejected.
However, it is not the fault of the defeated youma. He approached Sakurako with a demeaning attitude, and then challenged Yuma, who defended him. It's not unreasonable to ask someone who has never even been in a dungeon to fight you in a duel. They are truly despicable people.
The whole class admired Yuma's courageous action at the time, but when you think about it ...... calmly, you realize that this duel was a setup.
After checking the arena reservation list, I found out that arena number four was often used by the first magic club for practice because it had an anti-magic shield. In addition to the first magic club, the second and third magic clubs have also booked the arena, and it will be fully booked for a long time to come. I'm not sure what to make of it.
Kariya also has some strange questions: why is he still in D class, even though he is more than capable?
In terms of combat skills, as I found out firsthand during the battle with Yuma, Kariya used advanced techniques and tactics that cannot be acquired overnight. At the Adventurer's School, classes are assigned in order of performance, starting with A class. Kariya, with his high level of combat skills and ability to command the D class, is considered to have the ability to reach the C class, or maybe even the B class.
So what is the reason why he is still in D class, the lowest level among the internal students? Is it because they couldn't take the exam and were demoted? Or ......
The school's response is also strange. The school's response is also strange. The homeroom teacher turned a blind eye to the fact that the idiots in class D had just acted in a way that could be considered bullying. It's a good thing that I'm not the only one who has a problem with this.
This kind of pressure from the upperclassmen is not only limited to the first year E class, but is also prevalent in the second and third year E classes. There are even stories of students being expelled.
(It's as if the school itself tacitly approves of this situation.)
I feel that the school wants to discriminate against outside students in Class E, just like the "unholy people" who were artificially created under the "samurai, farmer, industrialist, and merchant" status system of the Edo period.
If that is the case, then this is not just an issue between Class E and Class D, because there is no way that Class D alone can do such a thing. Who are the beings at ...... that can do such a thing?
It's not just the class that can do this, it's also the class that has the power to decide who can use arena 4 and who can get the homeroom teacher to agree to it. class A ...... student council ...... or maybe even bigger.
(What if the enemy behind this is the school itself? Can I resist? ......?
To fight against the Adventurer's School itself is to fight against the upper classes, the student council, and even all eight of the major factions, the Eight Dragons. In addition, the Eight Dragons are backed by corporations, adventurer clans, adventurer university students, and even bureaucrats. It's endlessly huge. What could a simple high school student do against them?
Once again, I felt as if my eyes were going dark. The glorious dreams and hopes that I had drawn up until now, the expectations of my precious family, and the things that I had been chasing cracked open and seemed to be falling away.
As I turned my head to the side, I could hear the voices of the D class students who were in the E class. I don't even need to use my initial "Hearing Enhancement" skill because they are making so much noise.
"Well, my brother was invited to a party of the Colors' subordinate organization.
"The Colors? That's awesome!"
"Your brother was a member of Sorrel, right?
"That's awesome!"
Colors. ......
These are the heroes that Japan is proud of who stood up to the mighty Immortal King Rich and defeated him. Even if you're not a student of the Adventurer's School, I'm sure there are many of you who watched the other day's feats of the Colors with your eyes glued to the TV. I stayed up late watching it myself, and even rewatched the recording several times. It was the pinnacle of adventuring.
As a result of that defeat, the Colors continue to be a hot topic in the Japanese media. The other day, it was reported that the number of people interested in joining the clan had increased dramatically, with tens of thousands of people applying for interviews. The Colors is a super huge organization with five clans under its banner and many more under it. "I guess Sorel is one of those clans.
I myself want to go to an adventurer's college, but when I saw the video of the colors, I thought it might be a good idea to become a top-notch adventurer. But when I opened the door to ......, I found myself in this mess. It seemed impossible to become a top-notch adventurer, or even to get promoted to A class ...... or even B class or C class.
I remember the last time when my parents sent me off--
I was born into a family that served the Viscount as a legitimate son of a warrior family, but I was weak from a young age and would often run a fever if I moved a bit, confining myself to the house. At that time, I heard that the Viscount's legitimate daughter was going to enter the middle school of the Adventurer's School, where only the chosen ones are allowed to enter.
At the time, I was so shocked and upset by the news that I couldn't sleep. She was clearly smaller and thinner than other girls her age, and she had the same weak constitution as me. How could I have been accepted into a school where monsters from all over the country were gathering? Would I be able to survive in such a school?
I thought that I wouldn't be able to keep up with them and that I would be back soon.
I had thought so, but within a year of entering the school, I had made a name for myself, and at the age of only 13, I was featured in a magic magazine. The picture of her killing a large orc with magic was astonishing. I had no idea that such a graceful young lady could change like this.
I secretly sent in an application to the middle school of the Adventurer's School, but ...... naturally rejected it. I knew I had no talent. I'm so weak that my ribs are floating. I'll never get into an adventurer's school anyway. This is the reason why I used to make excuses to console myself.
I once told my parents about my weakness. Then, they secretly told me a secret about the young lady. The young lady had been making bloody efforts all by herself. She changed her diet, put together a training menu, studied until late every day, and just didn't show it to anyone.
People can only change as they change. If you really want to change, you have to strongly, strongly want to change.
Did I really want to enter the Adventurer's School? At that time, I couldn't overcome my weakness and couldn't enter the secondary school, but was I really trying hard to overcome it?
Looking at the photo of the young lady with her red glossy hair swept up, smiling, arms folded and chest outstretched, I felt as if I could see the strength of her desire to change and the path she was aiming for.
From that day on, I continued to train my body to death. How can I make my body stronger? My mother helped me prepare meals to make my body strong, I ran every day, and my father taught me what I didn't understand in the problem sets for difficult schools. For the sake of my family, who supported me with their devotion. I'm going to get into the adventurer's school with the young lady.
(And yet... What the hell is going on here?
It's not that I'm pessimistic and lamenting about the situation in Class E. I'm not lamenting because I'm pessimistic about the situation in Class E. I'm upset about my weak and pathetic spirit, which is about to break down at this level. I've worked so hard for so many years to get into this school, and yet I haven't accomplished anything, and I haven't even tried to do anything yet. I'm amazed that after only a month, you've already broken down. If the young lady were to hear this, she would laugh at me.
(Remember how you got here, and why you came here.)
My mother had tears in her eyes when I passed the adventurer's school, and she was so happy for me. My father gently pushed me when I left home. I came here to live up to my parents' expectations and catch up with them. I was about to lose at this point.
(It's not over yet.If it doesn't work, there's nothing I can do. But I will give up after I try.)
It doesn't matter if the opponent is Hakuryu or not. What are you doing giving up before you even try, Naoto Tachiki! Gather as much information as you can, assess the situation, and make a plan to win. Gather as much information as possible, assess the situation, and make a plan to win, even if the odds of winning are low.
I wondered if I had closed my eyes too tightly without realizing it. I felt as if my pitch-black vision was opening up. The classroom was the same as before, but after deciding not to give up, it seemed a little brighter.
The students of class D were still talking. The students in class E were listening closely as the topic of the clan under the Colors seemed to be getting more and more exciting.
Yes, even my classmates were listening to the talk about the Clan of Colors because they had hopes and dreams. However, if the situation continues as it is, their hearts will be completely broken and they will have no choice but to follow the higher classes or the bigger factions. In order to prevent this from happening, I had to show them hope and remind them that even in class E, they could catch up and still fight.
It is not their academic ability that is inferior. It's not their academic ability that is inferior, but the fact that they have been accepted to this school. If they study hard and get a little support, they will be able to keep up with the other classes in terms of academic ability.
The problem is the dungeon diving experience.
I've only been able to enter dungeons since I entered high school. It's only been a little over a month. At this point in time, it is natural that they are inferior to the internal students and it is not the time to be conscious of the difference. I should have suspected their intentional malice and the existence that created it sooner, because the enemy had targeted this stage to put pressure on us to break the E class.
The dungeon diving ability of Class E, which is inferior at the moment, can be reversed in a year or two, depending on how we do it. We want to show our enemies and classmates that we too can make it to Class A.
There will be more and more interference from the upperclassmen and upperclassmen, who will do everything they can to harass us in order to subjugate Class E completely. It's going to be tough to fight them all, and it's going to be impossible for me to make it to Class A with just my efforts.
I want friends who can stand up to malice without breaking. ...... shows that Kaworu and Sakurako are also on the verge of losing their minds. They are not as cheerful and positive as they used to be, and there is no light in their eyes. Despite this, they have amazing abilities and are incredibly stoic in their pursuit of strength. If they can overcome this adversity, they will surely be able to use it to their advantage. We should convince them to help us.
Of course, Yuma is also indispensable. His charisma is essential to lead the class, even though he may be a bit on the sidelines right now. But if anyone is going to sabotage him, it's probably going to be him, so I'll have to keep a close eye on him to make sure he gets the support and care he needs.
Then in June, there is a class competition. The content of the exam is to spend a week exploring the dungeon and clearing the designated tasks. Grades are given to each class, so the overall strength of the entire class is tested. It's imperative that those of us in the front of the pack do our best, but it's also imperative that we help those who seem to be dragging us down.
If possible, I'd like to gather my classmates who are struggling with leveling up as soon as possible and give them some sort of remedial training. If we can help them by sharing dungeon strategy information and combat techniques, it will be easier for everyone to raise their levels.
I can think of a few people in class E who might be a problem in terms of their abilities, but I think the biggest problem is that fat guy who came in at the bottom of the class. It would be better to stay with him and teach him, but we don't have time or room for that. It might be a good idea to include him in our party and let him experience the dive. I'll consult with Kaworu to decide how to support the other students.
Kaworu and Yuma can teach swordsmanship, and me and Sakurako can teach magic. We can also gather those who wish to participate and have a study session on how to get around.
The first thing we need to do is to get Sakurako and Kaworu back on their feet. I want to start thinking about what I can do for Class E now.
I can't just stand still. Until I catch up with that back.
TL Note- Another one of those different Pov Chapter, quite interesting and once again we thank Krazey for sponsoring this Chapter.
Thank you so much for the chapter! I am having a lot of fun with this novel!
ReplyDeleteThat young lady is the player and probably the master mind.
ReplyDeleteYou could really use a proofreader. The pronouns are often wrong and inconsistent, even in the same sentence.
ReplyDeleteThe story is fun and I appreciate your efforts, but it would be nice to eliminate those problems as much as possible.
Thanks for the chapter
