I wanted to enjoy a slow life while exploring the territory with a secret gift [craft skill], but I was intentionally banished to the frontier by pretending to be incompetent.

Volume 1
Chapter 4-Let's repair and strengthen the wall of the base!
(TL: By Rafael)

"We finally arrived"

"As expected of Rest"

With my ability to materialize, I don't know how many times it was activated but  I was finally able to reach the upper part of the island.

As reported by the research team, it is a deep forest that is completely untouched.

One can hear the sounds of various creatures from the surroundings.

Born and raised in the city of the royal capital, it was my first experience in the depths of such a deep forest, and it seemed that I was dizzy with the scent of nature that was too strong.

"Do you want to clean up the surroundings and craft the road to the base of the research team?"

"That's right. We can't proceed with a carriage as it is."

I hear from Kieda the direction of where the research team was based and use my skills to make an easy path towards it .

First, "materialize" everything that seems to get in the way, such as trees, grass, and rocks that are on a straight line.

"It ’s wonderful no matter how many times I see it, Rest."

Kieda applauds and praises me as usual.

"I think so too"

"But it's always a strange sight."

Except for the ground in a straight line, only insects and animals existed as if they were left behind on the site while everything around them disappeared.

Then, a moment later, They were surprised at the sudden change and ran away.

"I can hardly materialize creatures other than plants. Well, if I could materialize creatures, that would be scary even  for me."

"That's right."

"Now, I'll make a way next. I have a lot of stones."

Next, I used my crafting skills to craft the roads at once using the rocks I had purchased in large quantities.

After continuing the act several times, my eyes suddenly opened at the sight of my target.

"Is this the base?"

"It looks like that  there is no mistake."

There was a plaza that was surely carved out by humans, and several decaying buildings, although it was sinking in the grass in front of us.

One is the residence of the research team, and two are like warehouses.

I don't know what the latter one is because it has completely collapsed and has not retained its original shape anymore.

"It's tattered"

"It looks worse than I expected. The fence that surrounds it is also damaged."

The fence, rather than the wall that was made by driving logs around the square, has collapsed as if it had been destroyed in some places.

Probably the work of the animals around here.

"Let's just level the ground and fix the fence for the time being."

"If so, why not make it a rock wall?"

"Yes, then animals wouldn't be able to destroy it."

When I take a step, I  materialize all the grass and fences in the materialization range.

When the ground, which had been covered with grass, disappeared in an instant, I could certainly feel the traces of human hands.

"That's right"

As I walked and "cleaned" the inside of the base, some tools that were used at that time and would have been left unattended at the time of retreat appeared from the grass.

For such things, I will decide whether to repair or use them after confirming them later without making them into materials.

"Is it something like this?"

I walked around the base and made all the materials inside the fence and the fence itself, and then I walked along the edge of the base and built a wall a little higher than my height.

Thanks to me digging the tunnel, only the material is swept away.

 Pon.

 Popon.

 Pompon.

I make a gate on all sides that allow us to enter and exit.

The gate was made of wood, and I made a splendid one using iron parts only where it was necessary.

For the time being, the type that pulls up is the main gate with the direction you are walking in front, and the other three places are door types that open inward.

With my skills, it's easy to recreate them when needed, so I'm making it without thinking too much about it now.

"done!"

When I arrived, the ruins of the base, which had been so rough, became so beautiful that I couldn't believe it.

However, the restoration of the building and the check of the rolling equipment have not been completed yet.

"Thank you for your hard work, Rest. Would you like to take a short break?"

When I wipe the sweat on my forehead with a handkerchief, Terrine calls out.

Looking in that direction, a simple table set was prepared in the centre of the base.

They probably took what they needed from the carriage and prepared it.

Near the table set, I can see the maid Agni boiling water using a magic stove.

Agni is a mid-sized maid among the three maids, and I have never seen her make a mistake like a Fail.

Rather, I don't even hear that she ever made a mistake.

The perfect maid. That is my evaluation of her.

However, she's a little quiet, and she doesn't talk much about herself, so she feels a little distant from me.

 Terrine, Agni, Fail.

 And the butler Kieda.

These four are all of my current vassals.

No matter how much do  Kieda's subordinates they are, I think these three people would normally come to such a place.

"Thank you. I'm going now!"

After I wave to Terrine, I close my handkerchief and start walking.

I have to work harder now to meet the expectations of these four people and to spend time with everyone in the future.

TL Note- The quality of the chapter relased today might have dropped as I have a terrible fever , so I am sorry for any mistakes ,point them out in the comments I will fix them and if you guys don't comment I don't know if someone is even reading this or not.
