Super Mothership
"How is this possible?!" Isabel stared at the battlefield report she had just received, her face equally filled with disbelief.
How could the enemy come out completely unscathed?
Could it be that they had deliberately feigned weakness to mislead them earlier?
"Commander, the commander of the Sea Clan's Third Fleet sent another message after his battle report... stating that your poor command resulted in heavy losses for his unit. He also mentioned that he reserves the right to file a complaint with the Military Command," the adjutant said awkwardly.
Isabel rubbed her temples, feeling a headache coming on.
Gustav's incident had already caused instability in the Sea Clan's military ranks, and now this blunder only made things worse. Her authority as a commander had hit rock bottom—she wasn't even sure if she could continue commanding them effectively.
But in truth, the misjudgment wasn’t entirely Isabel’s fault. The regenerative abilities of the Immortals were just too overwhelming, far beyond normal limits. The lack of intelligence had left Isabel in a fog of uncertainty, making accurate decisions nearly impossible.
"Have the Third Fleet remain where they are and rest while waiting for reinforcements. The First and Second Fleets are to reduce speed and wait until they merge with our forces before taking the next step," Isabel ordered.
The interception had clearly failed. Given the situation, it was necessary to consolidate their forces to avoid being picked off one by one.
It was obvious now—Isabel had become even more wary of the Immortals’ terrifying power.
"Yes, Commander!" the adjutant replied, standing at attention.
"By the way, what's the situation on Planet Kara?" Isabel asked again.
Earlier, while the Feather Clan fleet was chasing the Immortals, they passed by Planet Kara and suddenly received hundreds of distress signals from there.
After identifying the signals, they discovered they were from a large number of surviving Sea Clan members.
Rescuing allied survivors was a duty, so Isabel had dispatched a small rescue team of five warships to Planet Kara.
Besides the rescue mission, it was also meant to bring Kara back under control, to prevent any hidden enemy forces there from launching a surprise attack on their rear bases.
"Reporting, Commander. Our rescue fleet on Kara has already begun operations. It is estimated that the rescue mission will take about three days to complete.
Additionally, the accounts reconstructed from the first batch of rescued survivors largely align with our speculations.
Lord Gustav first took control of the bridge, then faked a self-destruct order, forcing all crew members to abandon ship, thereby seizing full control of the warship.
And the three ships assigned to protect the flagship were indeed destroyed by the flagship’s own fire!
Commander, with so many witness testimonies, it seems that Lord Gustav’s betrayal is almost certainly confirmed,” the adjutant said, shaking his head with a sigh.
After all, the betrayal of a senior commander was rare in the history of Gemini.
Isabel had already anticipated this, and wasn’t surprised. Instead, she asked another question: "All these survivors... they all happened to fall on Planet Kara?"
The adjutant thought for a moment and also found it suspiciously convenient.
"Yes, that's correct. However… one of the warships was forced to surrender, and its crew was then compelled to abandon ship before it was destroyed by the flagship. Their actions… are quite puzzling."
"Oh?" Isabel looked thoughtful.
That kind of behavior really was strange. It was almost as if… as if the enemy had deliberately herded those survivors to Planet Kara.
What for? Had they set some kind of trap on Kara meant to ambush the rescue team?
It wasn’t impossible, but other than provoking them, there didn't seem to be much strategic benefit in doing so.
Or perhaps… the enemy intended to use the survivors as human shields, forcing Isabel to hesitate?
“Have any enemy forces been found on Planet Kara?” Isabel asked again.
“No! The enemy retreated very thoroughly. There’s no sign of any large-scale hostile forces. It seems they’ve completely abandoned Planet Kara.”
“Oh?” Isabel frowned.
Not leaving behind even a token force—practically handing over Planet Kara without a fight?
The only explanation Isabel could think of was that Planet Kara had become worthless to the Unity of All Things...
The Water of Life... Has it really been taken away?
Isabel’s slender, pale fingers tapped rhythmically on the armrest as she sank into thought.
The most valuable Water of Life in the Proxima Star System was undoubtedly hidden within the enemy’s biological fortress. If their two forces managed to regroup, reclaiming it would be extremely difficult.
And once the artifact was brought into the Solar System... the hope of retrieving it would become even more remote.
Everything in the enemy’s plan seemed tightly linked and methodical—this must have been their goal all along.
“Sigh...” Isabel let out a long, weary breath.
She hadn’t even entered the battlefield yet, and the strategy had already failed. Fighting a war like this was incredibly frustrating...
Wormhole Region.
In the distance, a point of light streaked across the starry sky, getting closer and closer...
As it approached, the Earth Defense Force finally managed to capture its image—a massive body with a green canopy shocked everyone.
What... is that?!
A legendary cosmic creature? And… it's a tree?!
The Immortal had now completed a full 180-degree turn, spewing out tail flames dozens of meters long as it struggled to decelerate. But for such a colossal body, slowing down from high speed was clearly no easy task.
“Target approaching! Prepare to receive!”
The system alert rang in everyone’s ears, and all mechas and battleships immediately formed into a tight circular formation—ready for action.
Moments later, the Immortal streaked through space and dove precisely into the center of the ring-shaped formation!
Almost simultaneously—
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!"
Every ship and mecha launched thick and thin tractor beams like threads of glowing light—dense and overlapping like a giant blue spider web, all aiming for the Immortal’s enormous leafy canopy.
In the next instant, all aircraft were violently yanked backward!
“Snap, snap, snap!” Some of the weaker branches couldn’t withstand the enormous strain and broke off immediately.
“Rumble, rumble, rumble!” Thousands of engines roared in unison, straining against the massive reactive force.
Their tail flames interwove into a dazzling ring of light—a breathtaking sight!
Thousands of mechas, including warships weighing hundreds of thousands of tons, had become massive brakes, dragged by the Immortal across hundreds of thousands of kilometers before finally coming to a halt.
Nie Yun’s two forces had finally, and with great effort, completed their rendezvous!
“They actually used that method to slow it down...” Old Hu and the others twitched at the sight.
“Reception complete! Welcome, Lord Immortal! Welcome, Civilization of Kara!”
What? What did the system just say?
Civilization of Kara?!
Wait a second—did that mean while the Ghost Captain was wandering outside for a few months, not only did he talk a cosmic creature into joining them, but he also brought back an entire alien civilization?!?
TL Note- Civilization....
