(TL:By Rafael)
"Horns? You're not human?
"I'm called a demon."
She answers questions smilingly, and her breasts are very assertive. She has large, black, curly horns on each side of her head. Her name is "Furufuru". If you complete a certain quest in the depths, you will become close to her and she will tell you her name, which is a similar to a NPC in the game.
(TL: furufuru means shaking might be in relation to the shaking of her breast but her name is furufuru)
Despite her mysterious and graceful appearance, she is over a thousand years old, and is like a grandmother's wise counselor who can answer various questions about the dungeon. She is nicknamed "Obaba" by the players, but if you say it in front of her, she will blow you away with a single punch that will barely kill you, so you must never say it. She is very strong.
In Dun-Ex, there were demons running stores and several races helping adventurers. I can't find any mention of them in this world, but I'm sure they exist, just like the full-fledged ones. I'd like to deepen my friendship with them for the future.
"Can I see your goods?"
"Sure, feel free to look around."
There were no adventurers in the store, the square in front of the store, or even in the hidden area, and the whole area was deserted. In spite of this, the shelves are filled with a wide variety of goods, including weapons, armor, ornaments, and medicines. Even the Adventurer's Guild doesn't have a store with such a wide selection of goods. Maybe they don't care about making a profit, but I know they won't give me a discount.
"Wow! Mithril?"
"This is made of mithril alloy."
Hanano holds up a dull, silvery dagger and shows it to me.
Mithril, also known as magical silver, is extremely hard inside the magic field. On the other hand, if you take it out of the magic field, its properties become the same as ordinary silver. In that case, it becomes just a soft and heavy metal, and should be handled with care.
Mithril alloys are made by mixing a small amount of mithril with soft silver, and are harder than ordinary steel. Adventurers in the 10th to 30th level are often in need of this kind of armor.
The dagger my sister showed me was made of mithril alloy, but it contained less than 1% mithril, and over 99% was silver. However, silver is not a cheap metal, and if you were to buy it at the Adventurer's Guild, you could probably get over a million for this size.
On the other hand, there is also pure mithril armor that is made of 100% mithril. It is extremely hard, light enough to float on water, and has magic resistance, making it an excellent material for magic swords and resistant armor. The disadvantage of mithril is that it is not easy to obtain, and it tends to be expensive. Just thinking about how much it would cost at auction is terrifying.
While Hanano was looking at the armor with admiration, I asked her for a condition recovery service. There are medicines that can heal abnormalities, but it's cheaper to ask Furufuru for recovery magic.
"I'll take three ril, if you don't mind."
"Here you go. I'll take that.'
"Ril is a unit of dungeon currency, 1 ril = 1 dungeon copper coin. Currently, I have 38 copper coins and one gold coin dropped by the castle owner on the seventh floor, so I have a total of 138 riels.
Furufuru clapped her hands in front of me. With that, the swelling that had been all over my body was removed, and the numbness that had been spreading to my legs receded.
(TL:You know what let's just call her furu, furufuru kinda feels worng)
Furu squinted her golden eyes to see if I was cured, checked my whole body, and then quickly nodded her head back. It seems that I was still in an abnormal state, and this time she put her index finger between my eyebrows and poured magic power into my eyes.
Then, gradually, my vision became clearer. It seems that there was an abnormality in the eye ...... optic nerve as well.
"The second one is free of charge."
"Thank you very much. I had some irregular enemies.
Suppressing the urge to swear, I turned my shoulders to check how my body was feeling. Hmm, it seems to have completely healed. I feel surprisingly light.
"Can I also ask for a job change?"
"There's a crystal in the back, you can use it."
"Oh, I want a job change too!"
My sister, who was looking at the equipment on display, dashed over to me. If you change jobs, you can learn a variety of skills and use them in a wide range of strategies, even in normal combat. In this world, if you can change jobs, you are a full-fledged adventurer, and my sister seemed to be looking forward to it.
"This is the job change crystal? It looks pretty normal."
A round, transparent crystal about 15 centimeters in diameter was placed on top of several layers of cloth. In the game, if you put your hand on it, the interface would automatically open and guide you. ......
I put my hand on it gently. Then a sensory interface appears in my mind. It's like when you're calculating and a number pops into your head.
(This is hard to understand.)
I can't compare the numbers and make a decision, so it's hard to do. I'd like to think about it like I do on a computer screen, looking carefully at the text and tables, but I wonder if it would be better to do it while copying the imagined numbers onto a piece of paper or a terminal.
"The level is ......19! That's quite an increase. That means those bones were at least level 25, right?"
"Really? Then it's level 11. I wonder why that thing was on the seventh floor."
"I don't know either."
As you proceed, you'll find a job change section.
Currently, there are three basic jobs that can be changed: Fighter, Caster, and Thief. To get one of these jobs, you need to have a job level of 5 or higher in Newbie. In addition, a certain amount of status is required.
If you are a [Fighter], you need to have STR, if you are a [Caster], you need to have INT, and if you are a [Thief], you need to have AGI over 20. I'm sure that both my sister and I have cleared all of the required stats since we're up to level 19.
"Which job are you going to get?
"I'm not sure. I wanted to take the [Fake] of [Thief] as soon as possible, but I was able to get here earlier than ...... planned, so I have some time to spare. It's a good idea to learn how to attack magic with a caster first.
In the future, you will need to deal with monsters that are resistant to physical attacks or have physical invulnerability. I would definitely like to have a non-physical means of attack. It's also possible to use magic-infused attribute weapons, but at the moment the only known attribute weapons are national treasures worth over a billion dollars, and they are monopolized by a few adventurers. It's not something you can get even if you have the money.
"Attribute weapons are Kotaro-sama's main weapon, right?"
"Maybe. That red effect is probably a flame enchantment."
Tazato Torataro, the clan leader of the Colors, was also using a Tachi sword with attribute magic, but that was also one of the few weapons in Japan designated as the highest national treasure. Attribute weapons are inevitably rare, as there are limited means to obtain them around the 30th floor.
"The reason why firearms have become obsolete is that there are monsters out there that make it difficult for physical attacks to work."
"Wraith-like and slime monsters."
In the early Showa era, when dungeons first appeared in this world, that is, in the early days of dungeon diving, the primary weapon was the bayonet. In the original world as well, guns were the strongest weapon in hand-to-hand combat, and it was obvious that swordsmanship was no match for machine guns. Of course there are guns in this world, too. Even when hunting Orcs, if you use a gun from a distance, you should be able to kill them faster and safer than with a sword.
So why don't adventurers in this world use guns?
The reason is that from the 10th floor onward, there are monsters that are physically ineffective, physically resistant, and some of them even have resistance to flying tools. While it is possible to ignore such monsters, there are some monsters such as floor bosses that can't be ignored, so using only physical attacks is a dead end. In fact, in the early days of dungeon diving, there was a time when the attack was aborted around the 15th floor.
Guns do not have corresponding skills, and it is difficult to benefit from level ups or physical enhancement through job correction. On the other hand, the deeper you go into the dungeon, the stronger, faster, and more resistant the monsters become, and the more powerful their attacks become.
If you're planning on going deeper, the theory is to train with weapons that have corresponding weapon skills or magic. It is obvious that you will become stronger later on.
(Besides, if there are that many adventurers on the 10th floor or below, guns are probably too dangerous to use.)
So, considering the monsters to come, it would be better for either me or my sister, or both of us, to acquire magic.
In addition to magic attack methods, I would definitely like to get "Fake" and "Trap Detection I" for [Thief], and "Backstep" and "Skill +3" for [Fighter].
"I can change my job as many times as I want, right?"
"You can. You can, but your job level will be reset."
You can change your job as many times as you want, but your job level will be reset to 1, and the status bonus (*1) will be reduced. You can just raise your job level again, so it's not that big of a disadvantage. Once you have raised your job level, it is common to change jobs again for the purpose of reacquiring skills or job correction.
I'll explain the skills and job characteristics (*2) that you can acquire to my sister.
"I want to shoot magic, so maybe I'll try [Caster] first. I want to shoot magic, so I might want to try [Caster] first.
"You can do it as usual. But when you shoot magic, your weapon might get in the way, so you have to think about that when using your weapon.
In addition to learning magic attacks, [casters] can also learn skills to recover from simple conditions. This is a job that you should have in your party. If you have a spare skill set, there's no harm in learning it.
"So, I'll go with [Fighter] or [Thief]."
Fighters can learn a number of close combat skills, but the most important one is "Skill Frame +3". This is an unconditional requirement.
Another skill that can be used is "Backstep", which evades backwards. This is a skill that can be activated during normal attacks and some skill motions, cancelling the movement and evading backwards in an emergency. These skill canceling skills are useful against opponents and some powerful monsters, and are worth adding to your skill arsenal until you learn the super-compatible "Sway".
In terms of combat skills,【Fighter】has better skills, but it's better to learn 【Thief】's "Fake" skill first in case of information leakage.
As for the other skills of the [Thief], Trap Detection I is also a useful skill. It makes it easier to find troublesome traps, so if you have room for it, you should learn it. But it's enough if someone else in your party has it too.
"Well, I guess I'll go ahead and become a [Thief].
I put my hand on the crystal and closed my eyes. Then a series of numbers was projected into my mind.
(*1) The status bonus is 100% at max job level 10, and only 10% at job level 1. For example, [Fighter] job level 10 increases both STR and HP by 10%, but job level 1 only increases them by 1% each.
(*2) Data for three basic jobs.

Furufuru it is
ReplyDeleteFuru or furufuru doesn't matter but please tell about the resetting of job level when someone changes job.
ReplyDeleteIs it like if Fighter is lvl 10 then you change to thief then your job lvl will be reset to 0 not only for Thief but also for your previous job Fighter and you will lose all the buffs from the Fighter job from before
or, is it like after making a certain job lvl max then changing to another job will make only the 2nd job lvl 0 but your previous job lvl will be still be max when you change back to it and while this whole change happens the buffs from both jobs will stay regardless of job change and job level resets?
Which one is it?
The demon's name is probably supposed to be Furfur. That's the name of a demon from the Lesser Key of Solomon, which is an extremely popular resource for light novels with demons or Devils in it (like Highschool DxD)
